My Coding Journey

I was first introduced to coding back in 2018 with HTML and CSS. I was around 16 at the time and didn’t have access to a computer, so I started learning using just my mobile phone. I explored basic web development—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—through a mobile code editor. Later that year, I also began learning the fundamentals of programming through the C language.

In 2019, I paused my coding journey to focus on my studies and prepare for university admission. But in 2020, my curiosity sparked again when I wanted to build a home automation system using Arduino, which required C programming. I still didn’t own a computer, so I borrowed my cousin’s laptop for a few months and successfully completed the project. Afterward, I had to take another break to prepare for university entrance exams.

I eventually got admitted to Khulna University to study BBA. After joining university, I finally got my first computer in 2021. That’s when I began taking coding seriously again. I briefly explored WordPress due to its simplicity, but I didn’t find it as engaging. Plus, I was struggling a bit with academics and doing part-time tutoring jobs, so I decided to put WordPress aside and focus on learning real programming.

In August 2023, I fully committed to coding again—this time with consistency. Even when things were difficult or I got tired, I kept going. I began learning MERN stack development and built a live cricket scoreboard for my university using Node.js, EJS, and WebSockets. That was my first experience working with real-time communication.

Since then, I’ve been continuously learning and improving. In mid-2024, I built a fully functional e-commerce application using the MERN stack. It included standard features like an admin dashboard, inventory management, filtering, and a Stripe payment gateway. It was one of the projects I felt most proud of.

In October 2024, I joined a local agency and worked there for about a month and a half before resigning due to university exams. Starting in January 2025, I began taking on freelance projects while continuing to study new technologies and best coding practices. I also built small utility tools to improve my productivity along the way.

I’m still on that path—always learning, always growing. My goal is to become one of the top developers in my country. I don’t confine myself to any single language or framework; I just want to become the kind of programmer I can be proud of.
